If 'love is blind' — then sex can be too.
A 'sensual braille book,' created to give the visually impaired the chance to ogle porn — and feel it too–was presented to the National Library of Sweden this week by Swedish artist Nina Linde.
"Occasionally Blind," offers a titillating array of X-rated images, including scenes of heterosexual, gay and group sex. Illustrations are raised so that people may "experience" the images, which are accompanied by an explanation in braille of the steamy scene.
(Melkorka Licea. Blind people can now ogle braille porn. October 29, 2015.)
a system of writing for blind people in which letters are represented by raised dots

Big Blue
IBM bought The Weather Company because weather affects nearly everything
Big Blue is making a big bet that companies will want to spend money on more accurate weather forecasting.
IBM on Wednesday said that it had acquired most of The Weather Company including Weather.com and Weather Underground news sites as well as its vast trove of weather data. The deal does not include the company's cable television outlet, The Weather Channel, which will continue to broadcast.
IBM would not confirm the financial terms of the deal, but the Wall Street Journal reported that thte price was over $2 billion.
(Jonathan Vanian. IBM bought The Weather Company because weather affects nearly everything. Fortune. October 28, 2015.)
Big Blue

shoestring
A die-hard Mets fan is embarking on one Amazin' journey – on a shoestring budget.
Scott Reing will be taking a mix of low-fare planes, trains and automobiles to see his beloved team take on the Kansas City Royals throughout the week – starting his wallet-conscious odyssey by making a 10-hour trek to Missouri Tuesday to see Game 1.
(Sophia Rosenbaum. Die-hard Mets fan's amazin' low-budget journey to see Game 1. New York Post. October 27, 2015.)
[from shoestrings being a typical item sold by itinerant vendors] : a small sum of money : capital inadequate or barely adequate to the needs of a transaction

Pigging out will kill you, the World Health Organization said Monday — warning that bacon, sausage and other processed meats are now in the same category of cancer risk as smoking cigarettes and inhaling asbestos.
Hot dogs, ham, corned beef and almost every other salted, cured or smoked delicacy have been officially classified as “carcinogenic to humans” — and red meat as “probably carcinogenic” — based on a study by 22 scientists from the WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France.
(OMG! Bacon causes cancer. New York Post. October 26, 2015.)
"pigging out"とは、

― gangway
The problem was Neal needed to use the restroom. His disability made it too difficult to use the one on the plane. He had already waited more than 15 minutes for the rest of the passengers to disembark, and the wait for an aisle chair -- a narrow, specialized wheelchair to take disabled passengers down the airplane aisle -- had now lasted another 15 minutes.
"I was trying to get them to understand that this is why I don't want to wait another 15 to 20 minutes," Neal said.
After being told repeatedly to wait, Neal said, he couldn't any longer. He said he got out of his seat and as the flight attendants watched, he crawled his way up the aisle and to the gangway, where a wheelchair was then ready.
(United Airlines apologizes after disabled man crawls off flight. CNN. October 26, 2015.)
