鳩山政権を振り返る(4) ― 友愛 ― fraternity

8ヶ月しかもたなかった鳩山政権ですが、所信表明演説での”いのち”という語の連発と相俟って、この”友愛”という言葉も前首相を表す特徴的な言葉です。

英語では、"fraternity"で統一されているのでしょうか、多くのメディアでこの単語が見られます。

Aggressive Chinese naval maneuvers in waters near Japan have also reminded Tokyo that Hatoyama's lofty rhetoric about "East Asian fraternity" has its limits. North Korean and Chinese bullying underscored how potentially risky Japan's alliance dispute with America was, and how necessary it was to move rapidly to repair it by agreeing to the U.S. troop realignment on Okinawa. But Hatoyama's abrupt about-face in securing it only hastened his political downfall.
