"ordnance"とは"ordinance"の間違いなのではないか？と。

勉強不足なのですが、"ordnance"という単語がちゃんと存在するんですね。戦争に使う大砲や爆弾兵器のことを指します。

いわゆる不発弾の意味合いで用いられることが多いようです。以下の用例をご覧ください。
