棺桶に収められた死人が息を吹き返した・・・。ホラー映画の話ではありません。

チェコ共和国で実際にあった話だそうです。

A woman declared dead by the coroner after her husband found her unresponsive in bed was being placed in a coffin when morticians made a startling discovery — she was very much alive.

The horrifying tale from the Czech Republic unfolded when an 88-year-old woman, who was thought to be dead, showed signs of life in her coffin.

88歳のチェコ在住女性は医師により一旦は死亡を宣告され、棺桶に安置されたそうですが、その後生きていることが確認されたということです。

死んだ人間が蘇ったのか、あるいは元々死んでいなかったのか・・・。

このような事例は珍しい事では無く、ままあることだそうです。

記事中、このような現象（⁉）のことを、

Lazarus Effect

と呼ぶとあります。

"Lazarus"は聖書に出てくる人物の名前、ラザロのことで、そのラザロをキリストが死から蘇らせたという話がヨハネによる福音書に出てくるそうです。

"Lazarus effect"という表現はこのような聖書の話にちなんだものですが、医学用語では、

autoresuscitation

というそうです。
