ケルシ選手からスイフトさんにプロポーズがあったとのことですが、記事では、

とのくだりがあります。

プロポーズの前にスイフトさんの父親に承諾を求めた、ということです。ここで、"his daughter(’s hand)"とはスイフトさんを指していますが、"hand"という単語には、
