運び屋 ― mule

麻薬などの違法薬物の「運び屋」のことを、"mule"と言うそうです。

正確に言うと、麻薬に限らず、いわゆる禁制品を密輸する役目を負った人のことを"mule"といい、薬物の場合には特に"drug mule"と表現されるようです。

スラングとしての"mule"の語源については詳しい解説を見つけられていませんが、運搬のために使役する騾馬（mule）がそのまま使われるようになったもののようです。
