語幹は、credo- という部分で、接頭語のin- がついているので、意味的には想像がつきますが、いざ使い分けるとなると紛らわしい単語だと思います。

などに対比して、


incredulous look
be incredulous (of, at, about)


という用例を並べてみると違いが大分はっきりしてくるでしょうか。

個人的な解釈としては、incredibleはunbelievable、enourmousといった意味に近く、incredulousはskepticalに近いと思っています。

従って、意味的には、incredibleとincredulousはinterchangeableなものではなく、

incredible story、とかincredulous look、はOKでも

incredulous story、やincredible look、はNG

と思われます。

英文法的には、incredibleのように、名詞を直接修飾するものを限定的用法と呼び、incredulousはbe動詞と前置詞の組み合わせで用いられ、叙述的用法と呼ぶようですが、incredulousの場合も上記の"incredulous look"のように限定用法的に用いられる場合も多いようです。
