"bromance"という単語をご存知でしょうか。私は初めて見ました。

用例を見てみましょう。

対談のスクリプトからの引用で、しかも途中からなので分かりにくいかと思いますが、トランプ次期大統領とロシアのプーチン大統領の関係についてコメントしたものです。

最近の報道でご存知のように、オバマ大統領は、アメリカ大統領選挙においてロシアがコンピュータネットワークに侵入して不正を働いたとして、ロシア人関係者を国外退去としました。ロシアの国家的関与があったとまで指摘し、プーチン大統領を批判しましたが、プーチン大統領は報復的措置を取らないとの声明を出したということです。

そして、トランプ氏はこのプーチン大統領の判断をツイッターの投稿で称賛したと報じられているのですが、トランプ氏とプーチン大統領の親密な関係については以前から話題です。

"bromance"という単語はちゃんと辞書にも載っていて、


a close nonsexual friendship between men
(Merriam-Webster Dictionary)


とあり、つまり男同士の非常に親密な関係のことを指します。

brotherを意味するbrosとromanceのかばん語です。
