トランプ大統領との不倫疑惑が話題になったポルノ女優が逮捕されたというニュース記事からの引用です。

逮捕容疑は、ストリップクラブで猥褻な行為に及んだということのようですが・・・。


Police in Columbus, Ohio, released body-camera video showing Stephanie Clifford, the adult film star known as Stormy Daniels who claims to have had an affair with President Donald Trump, being handcuffed and arrested outside a strip club where she performed.

Clifford, 39, was arrested July 11 on suspicion of sexually touching a patron while on stage at the Sirens Gentlemen's Club in Columbus, but the charges were quickly dismissed after City Attorney Zach Klein reviewed the case.

今回の逮捕には政治的な意図があるのではないかとも言われているそうですが、そもそもトランプ氏が大統領選に入る前に弁護士を通じて女優に口止め料を支払ったとされるだけに、きな臭い感じはします。

逮捕容疑につながる猥褻行為については、ストリップクラブに潜入していた私服警官が確認したようです。

G-string


なる見慣れない単語が出てきます。

"topless"は想像つきますが、"G-string"は"wear(ing)"という動詞に続くことから何か身に着けるものであることは分かります。

この"G-string"は辞書にも載っているのですが、「ふんどし」とか腰巻、また（ストリッパーなどが舞台で着ける）バタフライ、とありました。

「バタフライ」という種類の下着に馴染みはありませんが、「Tバック」というのはよく聞くところです。この「Tバック」は和製英語で、英語では”G-string”が相当するらしいです。

私個人としては"G-string"と聞くとバイオリンの絃をすぐに思い浮かべますが、何故に露出部分が多くなるようにデザインされた下着のことを指すようになったのか、語源は定かでないそうです。
