体の部位に関連する表現（4）＝shoulder ― shoulder to shoulder

日本語で、“肩を並べて”というのに近いように思われますが、日本語での“肩を並べて”にはランクが同列、といった意味合いが強いように思われます。

英語の"shoulder to shoulder"にも、“肩を並べて”という意味もあるようですが、地位やランクが同列ということを意味するのではなく、“協力関係にある”ということを意味することのほうが多いようです。
