米中間選挙の開票が進んでいるところですが、記事はアリゾナ州知事選の共和党候補Kari Lake氏を取り上げています。

2024年の大統領選へ出馬するのではないかと言われているトランプ元大統領ですが、Lake氏はトランプ氏が出馬した場合には副大統領候補に名乗りを上げるのではないかと取り沙汰されています。

そこで記者は、州知事として勤めを果たす気はあるのか、と質問したところ、

文脈から、直前の"attack"という動詞を修飾していると考えられると思います。
