日本は一次リーグ敗退 ― equalize

残念ながら日本の一次リーグ敗退が決定してしまいました。

今朝5時（日本時間）から行われた、対コロンビア戦を観戦された方は残念至極というところではないでしょうか。

前半、コロンビアに先制されたようですが、ハーフタイム直前に岡崎選手が同点ゴールを決めて希望をつなぎました。しかし、後半に立て続けに得点され、4-1で敗けてしまいました。

さて、同点に追いつくということを、


equalize


と表現しています。"equal"の動詞形ですから言われてみればなるほどですが、知りませんでした。

ちなみに、同点ゴールは、"equalizer"とあります。
