トランプ氏のイラン攻撃の決断はイスラエルの影響を強く受けたものだと言っています。「差し迫る脅威」など存在しないのにイスラエルの高官らがトランプ氏をそそのかしたのだ、と。

レターの中で、"echo chamber"という表現が使われています。共鳴室、反響室という意味ですが、American Heritage Dictionaryによると、

という意味合いがあると分かります。

これはつまり、ある考えに取り憑かれた人の周りに、その考えに同調する意見ばかりが優勢となり、反対意見を封じ込めてしまうような環境、状況のことを指しています。

イランを脅威と感じたトランプ氏に対して、攻撃をそそのかすイスラエルや戦争推進派の意見は反響室の中にいるように思い込みを増幅させ、反対意見は顧みられることは無かったということでしょう。
