An Army Major has been cashiered from service and awarded three-month rigorous imprisonment and a woman officer of the same rank has been dismissed for allegedly having an affair.
(Two Majors sacked for having affair. The Tribune. February 13, 2020.)
The Navy has canned the officer in charge of the unit whose two small boats and 10 sailors were seized by Iran in January, marking the service’s first public disciplinary action in an international fracas that threatened the U.S.-Iran nuclear deal.
(Mark Thompson. The U.S. Navy Has Cashiered the Commander in Charge of Boats Seized by Iran. Time. May 12, 2016.)
