Great Resignation

最近巷では、"Great Resignation"という言葉が聞かれるそうです。

一体、何のことなのでしょうか？

Google’s voluntary work-from-home policy ended on Monday, April 4. Now employees who didn’t apply for an extension or permission to work from home permanently have to come into the office three times a week.

リモートワークを巡る労使間の対立の話題についてはつい先日も取り上げましたが、パンデミックの収束（果たして収束するのでしょうか！？）に伴って、オフィス勤務を求められる側は、それならば辞めて別の仕事を、と考える人も多いようです。

という訳で、米国では大量の離職者が発生しており、今後もその動きが加速するとも言われています。

"Great Resignation"という言葉は、テキサスA&M大学の教授が用いたのが始まりとされています。

大離職（時代）、とでも訳しましょうか。

日本においてはアメリカ人のように権利を主張する人が少ないからでしょうか、リモートワークが叶わないから離職するというような話はあまり聞きません。
