飛行場の滑走路を横切るハリネズミ（hedgehog）を発見した飛行機の機長が取った行動に称賛が上がっています。

離陸の準備が出来ていたにも関わらず、機長は無事ハリネズミが移動するまで待ってから飛行機を移動させたということです。


A UK pilot was forced to put the brakes on a flight preparing for takeoff in Scotland on Thursday due to a hedgehog on the runway, Metro UK reported.

The Loganair plane was heading down the runway at Stornoway Airport when the baby hedgehog was spotted, the outlet reported.

空港の管制責任者は機長の行動を褒め称え、以下のようにコメントしたそうです。

Neil Hughes, Loganair’s director of flight operations, applauded the pilot... （中略）

“The captain safely avoided a prickly situation for the little hedgehog, following procedure until the animal was off the tarmac,” Hughes told the outlet.

"prickly situation"とあるのですが、この"prickly"という形容詞は、


厄介な、面倒な


という意味です。

そして、そもそもの"prick"とは棘（とげ）や針など先の尖ったもの、またそのようなもので突かれた時のちくちくする痛みを表現する名詞です。

ハリネズミ（hedgehog）だけに、"prickly"とはしゃれが効いています。
