日本だとかなり抵抗を感じる人が多い入れ墨（tattoo）ですが、外国人は割と気軽に入れ墨を施しているように思えます。

肌を露出する機会が増える夏など、腕や足のふくらはぎに入れ墨をしている外国人を見るのはそう珍しいことではありません。

国際大会やオリンピックに出るような水泳選手でもしています。

一旦施してしまうと除去するのは難しいといわれる入れ墨ですが、簡単に（！？）除去する方法があるそうです。

You’re not alone. Many people have “tattoo regret” and are opting to get the ink removed.

Nearly 3 in 10 U.S. adults have one or more tattoos and 25% want them removed, according to Dr. Paul M. Friedman, director of the Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center in Houston and New York.

というのは滑稽な表現だと思うのですが、昔の恋人、愛人、という意味だそうです。

"flame"自体に、恋人という意味があるようですが、愛情を炎（flame）を結びつける感覚は洋の東西で変わらないということでしょう。
