逮捕されるかもしれない、とSNSに投稿していたトランプ元大統領ですが、その後しばらく検察の動きが見られなかったところ、今日になって正式に起訴されたというニュースが飛び込んできました。

公開されていないと言われる訴状の容疑は30以上に上るそうですが、現職にしろ、前職にしろ、大統領が起訴されるのは米国史上初とされます。

Trump is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

となるかと思います。最初に読んだ時、この"uncharted waters"の意味を掴みあぐねましたが、コンテクストからは何となく想像もつきます。

"uncharted"は、チャート（図、グラフ、地図）になっていない、という意味で、"waters"は海域、領海という意味です。
